Hello, I am involved in a DIY project that is a little off the beaten path, and I am hoping someone can steer me in the correct direction. I am trying to build an enclosure that will run off of ac power, using speakers I have already. What I have: Rockford Fosgate RFZ 1812 12" Sub (RMS 100 watts, 8 ohms) and two Infinity Kappa 62.5 6.5" speakers (RMS 2-75 watts, 4 ohms). I am looking for an integrated amplifier to drive these speakers. Obviously, I will need volume/treble/bass control, and I need at least two inputs. I don't need things to be "audio geek" perfect, but I want reasonably clean sound in a 10' x 15' room. I am scared of the Fleabay $50 "200 watt" specials; it doesn't seem like they could possibly do the job. Just the same, I would like to stay in the $100 range, new or used. I wouldn't mind doing a car amp; I can't imagine setting up an AC transformer would be too tough. I know that this is a car audio forum, but I figure there is someone who can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike
so you're doing a home set-up with car spkrs, I've done the same many times. If done right it will sound amazing. There are differant ways to do the set-up so it really depends on what you want. You said you wanted to use a integrated amplifier,a few I could suggest would be ONKYO and Denon(i've used these before with good results).Cheak ebay and by no means underestimate the older amps.
was just looking on ebay myself for a new home amp ....this one would be PERFECT http://cgi.ebay.com/Adcom-GFA-2535-...209?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a8446811
