I'm replacing my 4ch Amp from Alpine MRP-F250 to Genesis Series III 4ch amp. My opinion after searching rms output i think this the correct amp for my component. (i'm shortlisted it among other amp eg..Audison, steg and another Alpine)

But many people say and some of them tested that it is not maching each other, how true it is ?? more ambarass some say got peoples with laugh at me if they know the combi i choose.

need opinion from ice master here as i'm newbie in ice.

    thanks in advance.

The Genesis III 4 channel (not compact 4 channel) will work fine.

Who were the "many people" that you asked for help?? maybe they are just retarded...an amp can power anything withing its limits(lowest ohm load)

What components are you trying to power??

I'm powering my Alpine SPX-177R aka Type X component.

The reason i'm upgrade is because i've done a great mistake (din't check the spec though) on my current 4ch amp which is Alpine MRP-F250 (check this out : http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=MRP-F250)
    The amp rated 4 x 40wrms @ 4ohm but my component is 75wrms..

Because of this stupidity i've make, during installation, i've to bridge using "Y" cable from HU to That amp to get 100wrms then connected to Alpine Type X passive xover. The result, the no separation in sound rather than Loud and mixed sound.

Two weeks ago i've try to match my component speaker (Alpine SPX-177R) to a used Rockford Fosgate old model modified (40i & 100i). It a decent amplifier anyway but dont have variable control (high pass & low pass only.

So now, after i've make a research. I've shortlisted 2 amps which is :
    1) Genesis Series III 4ch amp (http://genesis-ice.com/)
    2) Steg Competition K4.02 (http://www.audio-system.de/steg/k_steg.html)

Even though the Genesis Series III 4 ch amp is only rate at 4 x 50wrms @4ohm the true power is 4 x 90wrms @4ohm. It's under rated same as old RF amp.

Steg on the otherway is good amp rated at 4 x 115wrms @ 4ohm. But Genesis outperform Steg in term of their reputation in design decent amplifier.

So the decision here is clear...Genesis Series III 4 ch amp..not buy yet since some people say this amp is not match my component speaker. (Decent amp match with normal entry level SQ speaker = not worth it)

The reason i open this thread is to get opinion from Car Audio those with experience. So that i'll not make 2nd mistake with my 1st 4ch amp....

there is nothing wrong with powering your speakers with slighty less power than they are rated for.my 4ch is rated at 40x4 also but powers my speakers fine.
    it is clean power too.

You have not made any mistake at all...Have you not tried using your Alpine amp right now with the components ran to each front channel and not bridging it???

Do that and listen to it...but either of the amps you have found will do fine...you will not be able to hear the difference between 80 or 120 watts
