Is 4 gauge going to be enough for this amp?

    Orion XTR 900.2 Power Ratings
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    225 x 2 watts @ 4 ohms RMS
    450 x 2 watts @ 2 ohms RMS
    900 x 1 watts @ 4 ohms RMS

    2x 30 amp fuses

These specs say it's 2 ohm stable

in my opinion, yes, but thats only if you are running just that amp. Any more amps and I would upgrade the wire.

ok, guess i'll have to put the altenator charging wire to the battery, it is a new 130 amp altenator and 1200cca battery but i'm afraid of that fuse box that is linked between with 180 amp fuse. Wouldn't doing this leave all those fuses unprotected?

And why can't i find any info on this amp, there is very little out there about it. Orion Xtreme 900.2

Don't worry about the factory wiring...just make a straight shot from the alternator to the battery positive...and make sure to loom it well...I always wrap my loom in electrical tape but with long spirals

is 8 gauge ok for that wire? only reason i'm asking is i have a whole spindle of it lol.

I'll probably upgrade everything to 2 gauge but won't be until summer.

I won't be removing the original wire so maybe the two combined will be ok?

Leave the factory wiring as is...just make a new run...also ugrade the other two parts of the big three if you havent

8 gauge will help a lil bit I wouldn't do anything smaller than 4 gauge.

8 awg will be fine for now, just go to 4 when you can. Like azn says, loom it, even double loom it if you can, and be sure it will not short out!!!!!!!!! run it in a very safe manner!!!!!!!!

just like manuals and stuff, usually i can find these things easily when i'm looking at ebay stuff, i punch in the model number in a search. The manual is included with the amp so i will get that saturday. Was just wondering why there seems to be nothing out there about this amp. Was looking to see when it was produced mainly. Orion's site is not listing it. Closest is 8002

I can get this through a friend of mine for $90.00, i can't find any info on it. Does anyone know if this is a good speaker. It's a 12" Orion XTR Dual Voice Coil, with Ferrofluid Injected. 800 watts, not sure if that's rms or peak.

Those are awesome subs....If I remember correctly Viking build a singe reflex bandpass for a couple 6.5 XTRs and made people think they were listening to a 12 inch woofer in the store

Hey electro, Those subs were rated at 800 watts peak. 400 rms.

They were a fairly sensitive design also, I always used them in our SPL systems with good luck! 90 bucks for the sub seems a little expensive to me, even with the box, just my opinion though. Of course, the driver does appear to look like it is in near new condition for its age......hmmmmmm maybe 90 bucks aint so bad after all.
