amp question

    just wanna be sure on something, if had 2 dual voice coil subs. wel say rated at 500rms. and i had a 4 channel amp at 250x4 would wiring a channel per coil give each sub 500rms? basicaly says 250watts per coil

    well, you have to make sure what the amp would do at 2ohms. what's the model of the amp?

    no model, was just seeing how it would work. was looking at new amps and subs and got to thinking how it would work wired at one channel per coil

    i dont know of any amps that do 250 x4. you may be looking at the max rating. dont be fooled by those. look at the rms rating.

    im not sure either, just threw out a figure to use as an example.

    why not just get a class d amp and then call it a day instead of wiring each coil to a 2 channel amp
