ok, so here the problem. i have a solo baric l7 10 in an enclosed box. (dual 4 ohm) i borrow some junk 2 channel kenwood amp ratted at 600 watts peak while briged. i finally got my new amp so i could give his back. my new amp is a kicker sx650.1 mono class D. its an 04 amp that a dealer still had, new in sealed box. regardless i hooked this amp up yesterday and my sub barely moves. i get bassically no sound. i have had many systems and never had this problem. need some help getting this amp to work. i am told this amp so rock that sub, and kicker recommened that specific amp for my sub. please help

check the size of the wire hooking the amp to the subs should be pretty big.

the amp could be messed up and just nicely resealed.

check the ground. if its not touching metal it wont work.

check weather you have black to black and red to red lol i've made that mistake before.

I would check the wiring on the sub, being that it is a DUAL voice coil, it both coils are not hooked up "in phase" ie, positives together and negatives together, it will creat virtually NO sound or movement, or very little anyway..........

ICheck thatt first then get back to us.....................

Well maybe you wanna check what your gains are set at. No one thought of that haha...Maybe you just screwed up the wiring of the coils so the power goes nowhere, like wire a coil to itself....yes i've done that before haha laugh it up

check if you amp has a power switch. it never hurts to hit the ol' on button if it has one. :D

Someone should make a sticky thread about easy fixxes to these poblems. That way we dont have people asking a bunch of times and figuring out it should have been obvious.

yes my ground is good, all these wires were hooked up with the old amp. the sub sounded great before so i know i dont have a wiring problem with the coils and i did double check that, the only thing i changed is the amp. also my gains are not the issue, this has a digitial gains and eq. they also have four memory settings for the gains and other feature from the factory, i can switch between four and see little difference but it still doesnt move like it should. i have only an 8 gage wire for the power with a 30 amp fuse, i know i should have at least a 2 or 0 gage, so i am going to change that. also i did rerout my rca cables so i am going to pull my headunit and see if they came loose. any other ideas of what i should check

can you reinstall the old amp? oif so, see what happens.............. The power wire WIL NOT make it "quiet"

    Check for pinched/shorted rca cables........

and chedk the impedance of the woofer..........

Oh, and make sure that the amp you installed WORKS, have it bench tested at a different shop.............
