Hope you can help me troubleshoot this problem I have. I noticed yesterday and a few times before that my bass would hit REALLY hard then It will fade out a bit and then cut in again.

I check my RCA connections and power, ground etc. and they all seem to be ok. what do you think is causing this problem? I can tell if it's not hitting hard enough cuz my ears won't hurt. lol

any ideas on what I should be checking for?

    some sort of protection circuit?

i know of some amps that reduce power to protect the amp from blowing up.

yea sounds like its going into thermal, when it gets too hot it will reduce power until the temp comes back into specs and the it will go back to full power. Next time it cuts out touch the heatsink and see how hot it is but be careful cause they can get VERY hot.

that's the thing, It's not hot at all. I know it's not going into protect. I think it may be a bad RCA or something cuz when it cuts out it would only be for a few seconds then come back again. it's kinda weird. I hope it isn't the amp.

When my rcas went bad they made a lot of noise but didnt cut in and out, what makes you think its the rcas?

that was just a thought. I couldn't think of anything else. so if the amp isn't getting hot, RCA's are good, the only thing left is the power and ground or it's the amp.

put a meter on the amp and try to measure what the voltage is when it cuts out. Or swap it out with a different amp which im sure you have laying around somewhere and see if it happens to that amp.

yeah, I gotta put a meter to it. I just thought of something... It may be my audiocontrol three.1. I have to check that as well

Yeah like when my wife turned down the bass control and i thought it was the woofer. Its always the last thing you think of. Hope its nothing expensive to fix.

found out what it is. I have to fix it right away too. the false floor is touching the RCA's causing the signal to cut out at times. I have to grind down the floor so it won't hit the rca's. right now I put a spacer so it won't hit, it's working fine now, If I would have continued to let it happen it could have screwed up the amp.

so the floor was tugging on the rca's some how?

yeah, the false floor was pushing th RCA's downward so it was also pushing the amps RCA jacks downward as well. good thing nothing happened to the amp.
