I Have a 1985Oldsmobile delta 88. I want to run my amo through the car and into the trunk. However I cant figure out how to get my Power cable from my hood, through the car, into the trunk. I've heard something about drilling a hole in the firewall. How can I do this safely? Is there any other way to avoid this obstacle

Yeah, run it through your drivers side window, leave the window cracked...

Typically it is safe to drill a hole around where the main harness goes into the car from the engine compartment. There are many other safe places, just check both sides and make sure there is nothing in the way. Its really no big deal, just take your time and double check before drilling.

Be sure to use an appropriate size rubber grommet in the hole you drill in the firewall before feeding your wires through it.

A fresh hole will cut wires like butter.

Take a look at the rubber grommets in your fire wall I usually splice a small hole in one of them that has a lot of extra room and run it threw that. Or even better a lot of civics I have done have a blank grommet with nothing in it take it out and run it threw that grommet after making a hole in it. Whatever you do make sure to protect your wire from sharp metal.
