amp help

    when ever im listening to music and it hits a certain level of bass my amp will just turn off and/or stop working..i thought maybe the ground wire was coming loose with big thumps of bass but its tight..and when i turn the stereo off and on again its fine until i turn it loud again..any idea with whats going..thanks

    ps i have a explod amp and Pioneer Premier sub

    Sounds like your amp is going into a protect mode, does it hafe a light to indicate this???


    I would check a few things out. Check the voltage of the power wire, is it at least 12.5 volts at all times? (even with the stereo cranked)


    Check the impedance of the woofer, is it close to being wha is specified by the factory?


    Check the remote turn on voltage, is it on when the music stops?


    Is the ground wire properly connected to the chassis of the car? Dont use a seatr bolt or the clip that holds the factory wires out of the way, it must be done RIGHT!



    Make sure that the speaker leads are not touching, up to and includint the tensile leads of the sub

    kinda sounds to me like a 4ohm stable amp running at 2ohms..:huh:
