I have a 2 channel amp hooked up to my deck. The actual car door speakers are not directly hooked up to the amp. The speakers play at a very loud volume, even when turned to the lowest setting of 01. The second problem is that I have a 2 channel amp with 1 sub. I've hooked the sub up to just one side (either right or left) and the subwoofer only plays when the volume on the deck is very loud. The car speakers stop working and the subwoofer kicks in. Solution?
What kind of amp do you have and what is the specific model of your sub? Also what speakers are you using that are connected to the deck? Last question would be how do you have the amp connected to the deck? what preouts are you using for the deck to the amp?
sony 800 watt xplod. it has 2 RCA type cables plugged into the back of the deck, as well as a blue wire that goes to accessories or amp or something of that nature that corresponds with the deck.
the blue wire would be your REM.. that should be connected to the amp in order for the amp to turn on with the deck. make sure you plug the RCA's for the sub into the rear pre outs or if your deck has sub pre outs then plug them into there. I need to know the EXACT model of your amp and sub/s in order to make sure they are wired properly. We also have to know the model of your speakers up from just to be sure that they are 4ohm speakers and not 2ohm.
so the speakers cut out at loud vol levels? and the sub starts to play at loud vol levels? maybe the gain on the sub amp is all the way down. turn it up to say halfway and see if that helps. maybe your clipping the head unit and thats why the speakers shut off.
