alright my friend orignally had these in a tiny sealed box and his car had a very weak electrical system. so with some critical upgrades here and there its turned out to be quite an awesome system.

    The car is a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a 3.8L V6

we sound dampened his trunk lid, spoiler, tail lights, rear deck and the whole trunk with eDead v1se2. whats funny is the trunk lid shuts easily now because its so heavy.

the box is 4.5cuft@41hz with a 3"x13" slot port. turned out pretty good for the 6th box that I've built.

The sub amp is an Alpine MRP-450. The other amp is a Kicker ZX200.2 intended for some 6.5" polk db components up front. we hooked it up to his 6x9s for fun though. made a huge difference in the sound and it helps keep them from distorting from the subs since they have more power. right now he has some crappy Dual 5 1/4" coaxials up front that bottom out at a mediocre volume with the bass all the way down. so right now the sound mostly comes from the 6x9s. right now he has a decent kenwood HU but he plans to upgrade to a nice Pioneer sometime soon.

Onto the electrical. First we installed the big 3 with 4 gauge rockford wire and upgraded his battery terminals with marine terminals. then we installed a 4gauge amp kit from knukonceptz with a 120amp mini ANL fuse under the hood. shortly thereafter we scored a free battery in perfect condition from a friend. that right there is what made the difference. no more light dimming whatsoever. Once he gets the new speakers we'll tidy up the wires... i promise.

So far this has been a really fun project and I cannot wait to see the finished product. I hope to have it metered sometime soon from a friend on a TL. I just have to know because I know its extremely loud for 400RMS. I rank it above many other higher wattage systems I've heard even in good enclosures.

I've always loved the Type E's...they are one of the best bangs for the buck.

to be honest with you we took a break while working on it and i let the glue cure on the ports before i added more screws so i said **** it. the box is still very rigid.

and thanks ccc, another friend of mine plans on adding another battery to his system in a 1999 mercury cougar 2.5L 5-speed. It consists of a stock HU and stock speakers with two crossfire dbw10s being powered by an Infinty 1300a making 300rms@2ohms. I'll post pics of it as well. Also I will be getting my other friends system metered which consists of two 13Ov.2s and a Nine.1 making 1400~ rms @ 1ohm. its in a 2007 chevy aveo hatchback and it is by far the loudest system i've ever heard. it has to be able to pull at least a 150 on a TL

i can see mid 40's easy with that. 50's takes some hella power.

my friend has 2 18's on 3800-4000 watts with 4 or 5 batts and does low 50's.
