what is the best way to tune my amp and sub? i have a alpine CDA-9831 HU with a MRP-m450 runing one type-s 10", the amp has a adjustment for gain, bass EG, and LPF and my HU also has adjustments for bass level and LPF which is the best combination for my setup?

Set the HU controls to flat...

Play a favorite track, then turn the volume up to 3/4

Set the x-over to about 100Hz, and adjust the gain on the amp to where the sub starts to sound "crappy" (clipping the amp) then back it off just a touch

From here, adjust the x-over to a point that makes it sound good to your ear, might be anywhere from 50-120Hz depending on your style of sound. The bass boost on the amp should be used carefully. dont get carreid away with it! A little bit can go a long ways.

do you mean as far as level setting the bass?

do that from the head unit.all songs are not recorded equal.

i leave my radio's bass at any where from -10 to 0 boost.

0 being as high as i go.on occasion i crank it to +6.

    but only once in a while.for fun.lol
