HEY, newbie here. My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo got broken into. The Infinity factory and my sirius are now gone. I am ready to buy the Alpine 9884 w/ sat/ipod hook up and have a pro install it and hook the steering wheel controls up. Dont wanna drop $600.00 and not have ipod work. See many stories about ipods not working - work up to 3900 songs, dont work at all-?? I have a 6 th generation. Does anyone have any real answers for me about this deal. Thanks so much!!

    ^_^Why what did you do?

At my shop we deal with Pioneer, Kenwood and Panasonic. We have never had an Ipod not work with these units.

All of these modern units are designed to work with Ipods. And they do it well. Alpine is top of the line equipment.

My next unit is gonna be an Alpine IDA-X200.

Maybe someone here has more experience with the Alpine Headunits and can be of more help

    Alpine 9884

    Thanks for the reply guys
Alpine is $200, then the ipod hook up, then the sirius hook up. To hook the steering controls is $200.00. he said the wheel hook up is a lot of labor.
I think its worth it cause it will probably save me from getting into an accident!! Then there is the car kit. All in total $600.00, its sounds reasonable. Would be $400 w/o wheel controls.
He did a nice job on my sat hook up so i trust him.
    thanks again for the reply.

What would you recommend in the $200 range?

For $200 Pioneer is your best bet or alpine but watch their specs, i notice alpines are missing a lot of features and have low preout voltages
