anyone got a alpine mrp-m500 amp? ive got one on a new punch p2 10" 300 rms. ive got it wired to 2 ohms so it is getting 500 from the amp. anyone got any experience with the amp? i think i need to turn it down subs starting to smell like it got hot.
That alpine amp provides 500 Watts Rms , if youve got it wired to 2Ohm, then thats too much wattage for your sub, If i were you I would turn the Gain down on the amp to about half way, that would be giving it 250 watts RMS to the 300 watt RMS sub and it would be a perfect match that way, but if youve got the gain all the way up on the amp now, I would suggest turning it down
