Do you guys know anything about the PMA1000D amp. It is rated on their website at 1500 watts at 2 ohms, and I was wondering if you all knew if that was the Max or RMS rating....

I'd suspect RMS, for the price. My list on it is rather heafty, even moreso than some bigger names. It is a pretty nice amp. Dealer cost is $54.00 more on the 1200 than the 100, sooo... I suspect not a big climb in retail on that... may wanna consider that option.

Those amps looked absolutely beautiful at CES, with the glass top panel, and having an "hours" meter built in to measure usage...
And having nice, knob-based controls on their endcaps...
    Yummy.

Seriously, I don't know their specs... but from a chassis design standpoint, they stood out.. seriously, my favorite looking amps at all CES. Gorgeous, cosmetically.

I hate to guess based on price tag...
But I believe these are positioned to be marketed as high-end amps.

I had some alphasonics back in the late 80s/early 90s. They were pretty sweet for back then. I haven't had any experiance with them since though

The Owners/Creators of Old School Alpha Sonic Formed US Acoustics

AlphaSonic, like alot of Brands went out of Business and were Purchased, by, AUDIOBAHN.......

Though Audiobahn bought the name years after production stopped, or atleast did not bring out anything branded with the name till years later

There really is no link between Alpasonic and US Acousics

Pictures I took at CES, admiring them from a cosmetic/design/feature standpoint:

Knobs on the end panel (as opposed to little screwdriver holes):

And the cool "hours" of usage meter:
(I thought this was a cool touch... I'll have to keep this in mind maybe for our amps!)
