Hello,I'm new here and alittle new to the car stereo scene. Just need a "Q" answered if possable......Ok,To start i have a Kenwood 122(45x4)Head unit with 4 Audiobahn speakers(w/tweets)hooked to it......I have two Fusion 8" subs in a box that i need to hook up to it and was wondering what size amp i should use? They are: 200 watts (100 rms) Chameleon green poly injected cone 1.5" Kapton single voice coil 60 Oz magnet structure 4 Ohm Impedance Free space resonance (Fs) 35hz Efficiency 89db Frequency response 30hz to 4.5 khz Mounting diameter (mm) 7.04" / 179 mm Mounting depth (mm) 3.46" / 88 mm :alien: I'm not looking to blow my windows out and loosen my bolts....Just inhance my music alittle. My audiobahns do have alittle bass in them already. Well, thanks and Have a great day!!
here's an excellent amp for cheap.. It's a bit of overkill for your subs, but you can leave the level turned down for the time being, and it will still be pounding when you decide that you want to ditch the 8's for bigger subs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9716213302
kicker underrates their amps and unlike most companys the power name of the amp (for example 200.2) does 100 watts rms x2 channels or 200 rms x1 channel. in answer to your question its rms and more than likely it prob it putting out close to 300 watts total power rms
Thanks,Sounds like the 200.2 or 250.2 might be the way to go. Thinking about an MA Audio 400watt(100x2 @4ohm). Would love a Fusion amp to go with my Fusion subs but hard to find around here in Erie Pa.
