I have been oout of the hobby for a while & I want to slowly get back into it by throwing together a small sq system. I have a few old school Adcom amps & I am wondering if I should keep them or sell them & go with something newer? I have a Adcom GFA 4404 & 2 GFA 5275's that are laying around along with the GFI-4600 balanced line converter. I am not sure what head to go with (used eclipse in the past & also Denon) & the sub I will probably try Image Dynamics IDQ12. The other speakers not 100% sure on either ... Just trying to get the amp part figured out.... no clue what the newere amps are like thanks
oh man those are suppose to be stable to 1/2 ohm but i hear the manual recommends no lower than 2 ohms. either ay thse are some nice old school amps. i would keep them.
thanks the older one (GFA-4404) is stable at/below .5 the newer ones (still crap 14+yrs old) are 1 ohm stable & like you said shouldn't really go under 2
