of i got two less common 12'' subs, the G2 by boston acoustics, and they soun AMAZINIG in my box i have know, sealed mdf. i want an all see through sealed box for these 2 12'' subs and maybe some neon lights on tha inside. how will this sound compared to mdf and if i were to make one how thick. i know this stuff is expensive but it will look dope!
i saw an episode on this on the diy channel last year. i think 3/4 in will do. the box was held together by glue and nothing else. your right too it may be pricey. why not just do the rear of the box and save some cash. just pre-drill your holes and you should be fine. remember to go slowly to avoid any mistakes.
Those subs have alot of potential. I bet if you go ported, you wold be even more amazed. just a suggestion.
i saw it with just the pack or just the top plexiglass but im still not sure as to go all the way with it ya know check out this pic tho, its sikk. http://www.betteraudio.com/geolemon/AWT34/AWT34002.JPG i had thought about ported but then again my subs are recomended for 1 ft cubic inch sealed box so ill prob just stick with that. it fits nice in the back of my 00' chevy blazer and keeps it fairly loud with greatt SQ. one thing im concerned with, will this sound differently than in a reg box? i dont see why it would tho. any othey opinions/creative ideas/thoughts would be much appreciated. this will be my winter hobby
i may or may not do the whole thing acrillyc but not too sure yet. Since my subs are optimized for small sealed boxes, thats what im gonna stick too although id like to hear em poreted, its not woth the hassel. if you have any other creative ideas/input or advice let me know as this will be my winter project!! also i wonder if this will sound any different compared to a reg sub box? and outta curiostiy will home depot or lowes cut this stuff to size or nahh?
