I own a 96 grand cherokee, recently i had my heater core replaced, which entailed removing my dash board. When everything was put back together i noticed that when i used my ac, the air would not blow from the main (4) vents across my dash. It strange because the air blows great at the bottom vents located near my pedals also the air is blowing from the two small vents on the side of the dash a couple of days later we took the dash off to find the problem my friend said that everything was lined up right and that he couldnt understand why the air was not blow from the main vents. Someone please help its almost like having no ac at all
First, check all of your fuses Then recheck the wiring on the "control unit". These may have been pulled loose while installing the heater core. Check the plastic clips that house the wires. There are control solenoids that divert the airflow from heat (floor), defrost (upper dash), and a/c (vents) etc... try to cycle through these functions and see if they work properly before you tear anything apart again, but I suspect that you've just disconnected the solenoid.
ya, what hautewheel said If that dont work, do like me, kick the **** out of the front left fender till it does work!!!!!!!!!!!
