I have been having issues with my front two speakers. I'm pretty sure that the wiring is the culprit for the both of them. I was able to take apart my driver's side door and peek inside to find a severed wire. I was assuming that a wire is the same problem for the passenger side speaker as it would constantly come in and out. If it went out, a temporary remedy used to be to simply open and close the passenger door, and it would come on again, but only for a short while. Once I took apart the passenger's door and looked inside, I couldn't see any damaged wire. Now I'm thinking that maybe the wire is damaged further up in an area that I cannot see or get to, as the wiring is tucked away in tight nooks and travels through areas that I have on idea how to reach. If anyone is familiar with jeep xj's and their wiring, I would gladly welcome advice.

Also, I went to Radioshack the other day to buy new speaker wire, and bought Monster XP speaker cable, which I believe is 16 gauge. I have no amps or subs, and just use four infinity 5022i's coaxials that are five and a quarter inches. However, when I was taking apart my door and my header to see if I could find any problems, I realized that I'm not sure how I would connect the new speaker cable to my Pioneer header with the wire harness that it already has. Would I have to buy a new wiring harness kit? Or is this where a wire crimper comes into play? If any further info is required, I'd be happy to post. Thanks.

yes the crimper would come in handy to rewire your doors.

find the wires going to the problem speaker and cut and reconnect your new wire to the speakers.
