Ok so i know that the keyless entry goes thru the stock head unit...is it possible to get rid of the stock head unit and still have they keyless entry work? I read that you can hid it behind everything and put in a aftermarket stereo...does anyone know how to do that?
No you have to keep the factory head unit. You have 2 choices. Install a new Keyless with alarm. This method will help protect your new head unit. Or move your radio somewhere in the car. Power, Acc and Ground must remain hooked up plus the other plug (its the keyless plug) DO NOT under any circumstance cut your factory plug. Instead order a Metra Plug #71-1720 so that you can plug into your radio to keep it powered. Personally I like the first option
