    a few questions

    I have a Holley 650cfm carb here,

1> Can this bolt on to my truck (350 TBI)

2> will it give my any performance Upgrade at all?

3> what are some cheap perforamce upgrades I can do?

    No.

A 650 CFM Holley is a 4BBL carb. The TBI Manifold is a "2BBL" Manifold. Even still, the TBL manifold has a 3 bolt pattern (1 front and center, and the 2 rears are on the corners) and all carbs are 4 bolt :) . Also, the 2 Barrel TBI is capable of about 850 CFM.

Look into Edlebrock's "Performer TBI" intake manifolds, a free flowing exhaust, headers and a chip. In that order. You can eliminate the headers from the equasion, but the others should be done in that order ;) .

Look for a site where Chevy Pick-Ups are the main focus. I could tell you all kinds of places to get chips for Grand Nationals, even for LS1s. But the TBI Chevy 350's... I'm not really sure.

well Summit has the Intake for $220 and JET Chips ranging from $200 to $380 depending on which Tranny I have (400/OD or 700R4)

While I am on that, What is the Easyest why to tell the differance visually as to which I have?

also on JET chips they have what they call a "6 pack"
    http://www.jetchip.com/domestic/6pack.cfm?id=370

seems like a good deal, what do you think?

    Mike,

According to our manuals, the truck came with a 4L60 (THM700R4) or a 4L80E (which is essencialy an 400, but I've never heard it called a 400OD as the case is differant). The easiest way to tell is the 4L60 (or as you call it a 700) will be a rectangular pan. The 4L80E will have both rear corners of the pan cut at an angle.

If it is a true rectangle it is a 4L60 (THM700R4). If corners are cut off, it is a 4L80E.

I wanted to look at the manuals at the shop, because frankly, the 400OD threw me off. I will look at the chips this evening when I get home. Please let me know which tranny you have so I can get a good idea of what the chipset is all about. I am assuming some specifications are avalable on the site link you posted.

Those are nice, but require alot of work. I'm not really sure of Mike's skill level, but performing a TBI to MPI install is pretty heafty work. Computer skill and fuel tank R&R (for a higher pressure fuel pump) are just a couple things that make "bolt on performance" into a professional level job.

skill level I could do it more than likly, but MODIVATION to do it would be hte problem, I have none, I am the laziest person you will ever meet when I am not on the clock :lmfao:

well I have never Heard of the 400/OD either but that is what they called it on JET Chips so...

But it looks like I have the 700R4 anyway

Mike, get a shot of the rear of the pan, over the crossmember. That is where the notches will be. It looks like a 4L60 to me, but the 4L80E came with the drainplug in the pan. Someone may have put an aftermarket pan on it (because you have to lift the tranny to get the pan to clear the crossmember if you want to service it).

Just gimme a quick shot of that portion of the pan to be positive... and shrink it up a bit lol... 5-600 pixels wide ;)

I was trying to figure out why there was a differance. If the 2 trannies were
4L80Es and 4L60s then there should be no shift calibrations, and both have lockup
converters. They will be timed to come in at the same time no matter what the
    tranny.

    Cool!!!

well it rained all day today so I could not get under there to see what it is, but I do know that there has been some tranny work, or replacment, because the indicator is all screwed up (missalined) where Drive is in the reverse spot, park is way over to the left of the "P" point, etc

    everything shifted left

Easy Fix, I have adjusted them before, Probally will not adjust it though because I am lazy, no one drives my Cars/Trucks but me, I trust NO ONE
