I need to buy some 6x9 rear speakers. I am running them straight from my HU (no amp) so they are probably only going to see 50w max (idk if this is rms or max the hu never specifies but I'm guessing it's max). So, my dilemma is that all the speakers I buy will be very much underpowered which is not what I want. I want good speakers that will sound good with getting only 50w. I want them to be really crisp and hit hard. I have subs so I don't need them to be low or anything like that I just want them to be able to have a good solid kick.

    Thanks.

Also, just a quick question, how can I measure how many watts my amp really delivers using a multimeter?

head unit puts out 20 per channel if you are lucky... you can get any 6x9 speaker and it will be powered just fine... but if you want something with good sound quality look for something good like polk, infinity, mb quart just nothing wal mart brand... I had some kicker ds series and off the headunit they sounded pretty good.

You want to look at the most efficient speaker. When you do that they will go louder with less power. Take a look at Infinity speakers, they usually are very efficient and I know some of them are lower impedence than 4 ohm so they will ask your HU for more power.

any of the two would be more than enough.

If I had to choose id take the Kappas, they are the higher end and have external xover, but like cc said both would be fine.

Well the Infinitys are used and the Pioneers are brand new. The other differences are the Infinitys are more efficient and have a 2 ohm impedence versus 4 for the Pioneers. Look up the Kappas brand new and see what the price is.

They sell for about $95 bucks.

Do you think infinity is about the same as focal like you have? Because Focals are really expensive.

Well I really like my Focals, they play any kind of music and they do it very well, they also play very loud with no distorion. The Focals are very smooth and you can listen to them for a long time at high volume without bothering your ears. As for what is better, well we all have different opinions as to what we like. Only you can decide what you like.

Yea dude I keep getting outbid it's ridiculous. I need you guys to help me out with this really bad. I need to get these speakers soon so I can't wait days and days for these bids. I need you to take a look at these speakers and tell me what you think. I try to go for rubber surrounds and all that good stuff but I need you guys to let me know which ones are good and which ones are not. They may not be exactly infinity kappa quality but I want something close.

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Choice #1

    Choice #2

    Choice #3

    Choice #4

    Choice #5

I sat down and looked at speakers for about an hour or so and this is what I came up with. My budget doesn't allow me to pay more than about $80 bucks right now so this is where I'm at and I want these speakers soon. I planned on putting in those kappas tomorrow but since the dude freakin outbid me I didn't get em. They were such a good deal to. Man... o well.
Let me know what you guys think. Remember, I want good sound quality for rock and rap and nice punchy bass that can give you the kicks on the kick drums nice and crisp and everything.

    Thanks.

Personally, i would go with either the infinity reference or the JBL's.

I really like the first choice the rockford forsgate or whatever. Those look nice. I don't care tho I just want whatever is gonna give me the most punch on them kicks and have the best sound.

Id take the Infinitys and then the Fosgates would be second choice.

Haha, everyone has their own opinion. Great.

When it says sensitivity: 96db do you want a higher number or a lower number. I'm guessing high.

yes the higher number is better, means it will play louder with less power

Well, it depends. If its in the rear you dont really want to have a higher sensitivity cause it will overpower the fronts and not sound natural. rear is just for fill.
