    Hey all!,
This rookie needs a little advice. i have a small truck and am wanting better sound. I'm not a bass head, just looking for a some tight punch for (mostly) rock music. I have upgraded the HU and replaced stock door speakers with pioneer 2-way (30W rms-4 ohm). My question is for behind the seat's. will a 6.5" be better SQ than 8's? i am looking at JL 6w3v3-4 for the 6.5's or should i go for the 8's (looking at JL 8w3v3-4 for 8's)? not looking for a lot of low bass, just a nice n tight punch. Btw...amp will match rms of whatever sub i choose.
    Thanks everyone!

Go with the 8 inchers.... I like rock and gut wrenching bass from a gibson with a set of pearls behind it... even a 18 incher will do good... its all in the box man.....

Yes, I would definately go with the 8-inch woofer also. May I ask what type of truck you have. I really believe that the enclosure is 90% of your sound and the product or woofer is the other 10%. Your woofer choice is a good choice, now all you need is the right box.

Your matching the amp power to the RMS power handling of the woofer is a great idea. Just remember that going a little over is also OK.

    Thanks for the replies guys!
Ranger, I have a 98 frontier. It's extended cab but i frequently carry equipment back there so i am limited on space. I am thinking of going with the 8's and sealed boxes (10"L, 7"W, 20"H) on either side facing in. This should allow me to keep most floor space for equipment. My question now is, at 0.81cu ft per box, if i calculated right, is this going to be big enough for the 8's?
    Thanks!

Thanks shriver! Now I have a new question! I have a JL audio JX 360-4amp. I am currantly running (2) 6.5" coax speakers up front with channels 1&2 and want to bridge channels 3&4 to run the 2 subs. What ohm subs do I need and should they be SVC or DVC?
Thanks again for all the replies guys!

You will to have a 4 ohm load on channels 3 and 4 when bridged. So, two 8 ohm woofers in parallel, or two 2 ohm woofers in series. This can be achieved by either single or dual coice coil drivers, just depends on what each coils resistance is....
