well my friend traded his alpine type-es and mrp-450 amp for two hifonics HFi12D4 12s and a profile ap1200 amp.

these subs are 20$ and well worth the money

the amps making between 500-600rms. this system hits so low so well that white girl from young jeezy made it hard to breath. I couldnt believe it! Not to mention that it also destroys up until about 50hz then drops off slightly. It played the best 20hz tone i've ever heard.

haha thanks, ya its like a little bomb shelter. only thing that i hate about this box is the fact that 50hz and up produces weak output. its just fun to listen to some great ground pounding bass.

well tuning about 32Hz and lower you are going to need a lot of midbass up front to help out.

33Hz is usually a good mix of both and does better above 50Hz usually.

you know i was thinking that earlier. i realized if i would've tuned slightly higher then the sound would've been much more rounded out. but when he plays some gorilla zoe your pants ripple and when the windows cracked it flexes close to a 1/4". azn what sub amp combo should he get for some better lows? a nine.1 isnt out of the question.

been busy with a lotta sh!t lately...preregistering for classes suck when you don't know if you'll pass a class or not.

PM some dimensions...I forgot what the t-line was for anyways. Short term memory sucks

i say we make it a public thread haha. 33w x 23d x 14h external. 1999 mercury cougar hatchback babbbyyy. oh and the amp is an infinity 1300a 200rms@4ohm 300rms@2ohm and i know you said it may be 1 ohm stable on a good electrical system.

Today my friend called me to come help him install his subs in his VW Passat...he said his dad did most of the work.

well I had to redo the ground, redo all the ends on the amp wires, fix the fuse holder.

The amp is a Crunch "1400" watt 2 channel amp...by my calculations its around 500 watts rms. Not bad for him...hes only 17.

Now when I looked in the trunk I was horrified to see a two 12" Pyle Blue Wave subwoofers in a sh!tty prefab bandpass. When asked how much he paid for it he said 200 bucks for the subs and box. I was like wtf dude those are sh!t and you got raped...we are taking them back...well he only got store credit and I saw that the place now carried these same Hifonics subs...two for 80 bucks plus tax. Not bad. So I said get two and we'll hook one up for now in one of my spare single 12 boxes. He agreed.

Now the sub is wired to 8 ohm so estimated 200 watts to the sub. The enclosure is 2.4 cu ft tuned to 35Hz if i can remember. Sub firing up and port back. Tried sub up port side but port back sounded better and got lower.

Let me tell you...for the money this sub is pretty badass. I wouldn't mind four of these ported in the back of my exploder. The sub loves big enclosures...the lows are crazy for 200 watts and one 12. Response is pretty flat and blends pretty well with the crappy stock speakers high passed at 125hz.

I highly recommend these for budget speakers...well worth the cost. Build quality is pretty good. Suspension seems beefy enough for around 500 watts. These would pound like a mofo in a t-line...very efficient subs.

I'm gonna build him a new box soon for them with about 500 watts rms total...Should pound hard...I'm going for 3.5 cu ft tuned to around 36Hz with either four 4 inch ports or one 6 inch flared port.

Trunk opening is small as hell and the trunk is surprisingly small...my brothers 02 camry's trunk could hold atleast two more dead bodies.

Ya hifonics emailed me a .pdf but I'm on my phone right now but ill get it to you tomorrow. And ya those subs are beasts for sure. But one of the two in my friends car straight lost a voice coil and had me confused for a bit cause his amp kept going into protect. Finally put those 2 pioneers I had in there on that new MA amp I got in that deal. Sold the amp for 200 so I got the BTL for 150 bucks essentially. Oh and those pioneers rape way harder than those hifonics.
