I want to make a system this time that is done right. I want to have a really loud system and I have seen other guys that have 4 12's in one box that mademe cry it was so loud. I would liek to do the same thing. What I wanted to know was what would sound better and the easiest to make. I was thinking about 1000 watts each sub. But would 12's or 15's be louder? What size would really give me lots of bass. anything will help....thank you!
15's have more cone area so they will be better if you could fix them. BUT it all depends upon the box. if you have a crappy box then they will sound crappy.
I was going to make my own box. I was gonna make it as big as i can. Its going in the back of a 92 Chevy Blazer and I was gonna try and make it atleast from the back seat to the rear door, but I wanted to see what would sound better back there. Could there be too much air space in the box? I wanted to have a sealed box.
Generally ported is better for a loud system so you can tune it to match the type of music you play. As far as too much air space, yes and no. If you put a sub in a box too big then it can't take as much power but it will play at lower power without consequence. I don't know how big the back of a blazer is but 4 15s is gonna need a huge box.
Ok then the 12's would be a better idea? How about Kicker CVX12? 4 of those? with 1000 watts to each? Would that be better?
Dont forget if you are going to run 4000 watts you will need to upgrade your electrical system. High output alternator and maybe extra batterys. What amps are you using?
I was gonna put in 4 Kicker Solo baric L7 S15l7 1000 watts each....and use 2 Lanzar 2000 watts amps......like you said i bet it is a good idea to use 2 batteries.....can you tell me how to do that? I have seen that before but I dont know how to put in another battery. Where would I put that other battery? Can you help me with that?
Jus throwin this out there.. If you have enough money, get new amps.. You aren't gonna get the full 2000 out of Lanzar..
big blazer or the little blazer? will make a big diff to know. if its the little one then you may not have enough room for 4 15's and your batts needed and your amps. when done right you can get pretty loud on just 2 subs too. i got a bud that can do 51's with 2 15's in his pathfinder. thats about the same size as a small blazer.
Yeah it is the small Blazer....2 door....I was thinking about saving money and going with just 2 12's.....I had 2 Sony Explods before in truck boxes and it was kinda loud but i want to find 12's that will really have some thump to it...and make my own box that will fill out most of the back so I have enough room for the amp and enough air for the subs.... Can anyone tell me how I am suposed to put another battery on? I have no idea how to do that.....
i run 2 12's in my jimmy. we both have around the same size truck. mine is a 96 tho. i ran my pos from the front to the pos on the rear batt, and i grounded the back batt to the spare tire mounting point.
And you did not do anything to your alt? High out put? So you are just running 2 batteries off of 1 alt? Cool did not know you can do that!
