Now ive never really looked into this, but i have 3 DVQ subs and just picked up another mono amp .. The amps are the same brand but different models and different rms wattage. I dont think this is a good idea but maybe someone can back that up or argue. Is it safe to have 2 different amps on the same speaker but separate voice coils of that speaker? I have a feeling it would mess with the excursion of the subwoofer.. Am i wrong here?

EDIT - If i match the outputs with a meter (if possible)

Technically you could do it, but in the end my money's on the voicecoils being destroyed, especially given that you're using different models of amps with different output ratings.

if you feed the same input signal to both amps....and set the gains really close... you wont have a problem.....

DVC subs were originally made with the intention of using a stereo signal to each voice coil...thereby eliminating the use of a mono amp....it will be fine....even if the signal to one coil is greater or less thanthe other...I have done this many times over the years with NO problems..

Sweet, thanks bud. Its been a while since ive tried this so i dont remember, but i can test the gain from each amp by using a volt meter on the speaker outputs on the amp rite?
