recently bought a 2002 grand am sedan with the monsoon sound system, wanted to replace the blown rear speakers and after researching this monsoon crap learned that the bass and treble are run through differnt wires to the rear so i will either get bass or treble depending on which wires i hooked up, kinda screwy deal if ya ask me but anyway i was thinking of ways around this cause thats what i do, what if i was to wire the sets (treble and bass) together then to my speaker, what would that do? would it hurt anything? If anyone has any answers for me or ideas please i would love to hear them. Oh, and my wife (the driver of the vehicle) doesnt want me to change the head unit so thats not an option, thanks to anyone with an idea.
yea monsoon is almost as difficult as bose when it comes to replacement your best bet its to replace it with a stock speaker unless you wanna get messy with rewireing and total system replacement
I am not a big fan of Infinity Kappa Speakers, but it is the speaker you need. It has two hookups on each speaker, one for the woofer and one for the tweeter. There are other brands that have the same thing, check out Memphis. I think its the MClass coaxial speakers that you want. (not sure on model, not a Memphis dealer) There may be a few more brands that will do what you need.
after thinkin bout it i think a component set would probably be the way to go, pretty much a direct replacement, thanks for the comments men
