hi all, i have minimum car audio knowledge and need your advice/help.

my 5year old car has horrible sounding speakers at the back (6inch i think) and door (5inch i think)

i visited a few car audio shops and got very different advice. one told me that for my budget ($200) he could put a pair of 5in coaxial speakers in the door, and modify the rear to fit a pair of 6x9 coaxials.
another shop told me to loose the stock speakers at the back and spend my whole budget on better 5in coaxial speakers in the front.

both shops look like specialists and sounded like they knew what they were talking about.

i would be grateful for any advice. thanks.

btw my cd player is a pioneer deh 2250 with no added amplifiers.

You would be better off spending the $$$ on the front speakers, just leave the stock ones in the rear. usually the rear is just used for fill anyway.

if it was me. i would use your money on 1 set of good speakers up front for now. then save up for another set in the rear. now that is of course if you want to continue running rear speakers.

its personal preference for most. i use my rear, set low for the added presence of space on some music.

its ultimately up to you tho. buy 2 sets of ok speakers now, or one set of good speakers in front then later on another set of nice speakers in back. the rear speakers dont need to be very expensive at all. just good enough to sound better than the stock ones.
