OK forgive my noob question here. I am going to be installing 2 amps in my car this weekend. Sub amp 800W RMS i bought a kicker 4ga amp kit for and then i remembered i have an extra amp that matches perfectly for my 5 1/4 comps in my doors. I will be putting that amp somewhere in the front of the car so i don't want to buy a full amp kit, 17' of power wire and RCAs cause that will be overkill, should i just buy everything seperate and make my own amp kit? and what about the battery hookup? I know i should use a dist block but i would need 4ga in and 4ga, 8ga (for the smaller amp) out and not sure if they even make that? OR shoud I just run 4ga to my comp amp? Its only going to be running 200W RMS. Then i would need a 4ga in and two 4ga out, right? and do i put a fuse in line after the dist block? for each power wire? OR can i just hook up both power wires right to the battery? sorry for the long post . . .
buying an amp kit is cheaper. I bought my 4 gauge kit from www.knukonceptz.com The Kolossus 4 gauge kit is the best you can get for the money. I would just mount the highs amp in the back next to the sub amp...easier. You just need a distro block with 4 gauge in and two 8 gauge outs. For the short run from the block to the amp 8 gauge will do fine. Just make sure you have a 4 gauge ground for the sub amp.
