I'm in need of replacing the fronts on the wife's Expedition. She or her friend blew them.It looks like a 5x7 or 6x8 will fit.I've done some searching and have come up with too many options.I was looking for the most efficient I could find because of keeping the stock h/u.I was leaning towards the Polk db's,but I put some in a friends truck and they didn't sound the way I thought they should.Basically,I just want to give her a step up without breaking the bank.100 bucks max.Any opinions?

After driving the truck today,I noticed that all the speakers are blown. The back ones are way worse sounding than the fronts.
Many factory speakers are 2-ohm. Your factory HU will be fine with those speakers. Also listen to a set of Infinity Referance 5 x 7, I personally like them more than the Kappas. The Referance are my second favorite, only Polks beat them out. But its a really close call for me
I'm not sure on budget as of yet, just realizing more speakers are blown has really pi##ed me off.I'll go to a shop and give a listen to polk, infinity, and alpine because that's what's available.I'll keep you posted.
