I'm a fleet mechanic by trade, with past exp also as a millwright in a steel mill, also before I got the current job 12 years ago, past auto experience was 20 or so years as a brake, suspension and alignment guy, don't know that I'd like to be under the alignment rack anymore with all the electronics, (nothing can be done without a scanner anymore...grrrr)
I'm old school, prefer carburetors, HEI type ignition, and things I can fix with a screwdriver, vacuum gauge, timing light and for deeper repairs, SAE tooling and not metric...
Im a die hard Dodge guy stuck working for a state that loves their Fords (which I hate too, only slightly less than import brands)
I love camping, tractor and car shows, swap meets, the rare occasional old school auction that I can find, (miss those) Coleman stoves and lanterns, summer yard work,
electrical/electronics is an admitted weakness, not so bad on new installs but "X" dont work, find the green or broken wire" type electrical work drives me absolutely crazy.
I live about an hour south of Chicago, about twice the distance from that crap hole now, than where I grew up....
