Getting map data updated in a factory installed unit

I have a problem with getting timely updates to the factory installed navigation unit in my 2019 Ram 1500. The data set on the truck is 3rd quarter of 2017. I also have a Garmin a Nuvi that I really don't want to use in the truck. I am able to update the Nuvi at will. I have taken a look at the files on both machines to compare file names and dates. The integration of the Nav with the other elements of info-tainment center is great. However, the system is only as good as its last data installed.

Is there anyone in this community know if the unit in the truck uses data the same way that the nuvi unit does? Do they also know if files can be copied from one to another?

Available data doesn't appear to be the problem, getting it usable is the issue.
