Hey guys, new to the forums here. Haven't had any subs for a few years and I'm regretting that. Back in 05 or 04 I did a ton of research to find a great sub at a decent price. I went with an Adire Tempest 15 for $150 in a box that I made out of 3/4 mdf to 3cuft, powered by a Kole HK1440 (720rms@2ohm). It fit in the trunk of my Maxima and the thing really sounded great in both SPL and SQL (to me anyway, who had never heard better). Now I have a 2006 F150 STX Regular cab (the one with the 6" suicide doors to access the space behind the seat, which is surprisingly big. I have 2 questions. 1) If anyone has experience with this truck, what is the biggest sub/box that can fit? 2) I went to Car Toys to listen to 2x 12w3's and 2x 12w6's. I was really not impressed (comparing to the tempest i had in memory) . After having a tempest 15, I don't think I can have anything that can't pound as hard. Is there a similar SQL and SPL type of sub nowadays for around the same price? Also, I may need something that doesn't have too big of a mounting depth. I realize this may be impossible to achieve all of these goals. Basically I need: 1) something that fits 2) loudest possible for size available 3) best price Thanks a bunch! -Mersc
Yes, what is the model/year/specs of the sub? Recommended size of box sealed/vented? How much $? If anyone else can help with original post I'd greatly appreciate it.
not exactly sure the year i guess.. its brand new though.. and its an Re Audio SRi dual 4 ohm.. brand new in the box.. and it can go in either vented or ported.. sealed can be 1.5 cubic ft to 2 ft... and ported from 2.5@35hz to 3 ft.@34hz. rated for 300rms but will take a little more then that.. but is loud with less then that also.. and i could do $150 shipped and insured.. and i accept paypal..
I couldn't find any info on the re sri. Re's we site shows the "srx". That must be the newer version? I am seeing srx's new in box on eBay for 130 free shipping. Anyway my amp does 720 rms@4ohm so I think I need a different sub anyway. Any suggestions anyone?
i ran 750rms to my srx d4.. and yes this is the better built model previous to the srx.. i am an authorized dealer btw.. so it would have warranty.. also ur original post says 720rms @ 2ohm.. u cant buy the SRi anymore.. but i have one never been powered up still..
If you like i have a really good condition original Adire Tempest 15 that I'm not using. Let me know. thx.
