Alright guys. Putting in 4 6-1/2 inch speakers in my Civic (thats what fits). Ready for a really nice sound system that can play all genres: rock, rap, death metal, dubstep, jazz, you name it.

Keep in mind I have 5.1 rca output that will go into some amps then to the speakers. I want the speakers powered by amps. I want name brand quality sound that will impress my friends and make our ears very happy :)

I want to be able to blare my music loud and proud with no distortion and good bass etc.. I have the sub for now which will be replaced once I get this part of the audio system done. Still debating how I am going to do the center speaker. I am lost when it comes to this stuff so I really need some suggestions.

My budget: $400 for 5 powered 6.5" speakers. I would like to pay less but I am lenient. I don't want to waste my money I want to go big or go home.

    Thanks.

does that 400 include the 2 amps needed to run them too?

you will need 2 amps. one 4ch for the front 3 speakers and a small 2 ch for the rears or another 4 ch for the rear and one sub running off of the rear channels bridged.

    Actually,

If I'm not doing the 5.1 could I still use the 5.1 outputs but just not use the center output or would that make it sound odd because it is missing the center channel?

not sure, but if its like a reg home 5.1 you may have the option to run it as a 4.1.
