http://cgi.ebay.com/DLS-PERFORMANCE...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item25619f226c Anyone know anything about this subwoofer? I'm looking to install it in and Infinite Baffle or Free-Air system... in my trunk... Is it good or bad. This is all I can find for IB subs... Also found this one but I don't like how cheap it looks: http://cgi.ebay.com/12IB4-JL-AUDIO-...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item1c14d71141 And this one I don't think is good: http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-TS-W308...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item336156c095
Idk about the JL. The material seems cheap is what I was saying. Idk what the frequency range is on that thing. I think I could probably get something better. Just have to find it...
let me reiterate my last statement... Looks have nothing to do with how a driver performs. Paper cones, carbon fibre cones, plastic frames, stamped steel frames, cast frames and dual flat layer spiders....its all just different ways of achiving the same end result. making sound. In a free air design, lets not worry about the F3 too much....it DOES NOT MATTER. What you WANT is efficiency, the right core values, and a proper design in your vehicle. Some of the best sounding drivers I have heard look like Kmart blue light specials. But hey, you do what YOU feel is right for what you want....I am just here to help as best I can. Too many folks pay TOO much attention to the look and the max power a driver will take to determine if it is right.....that is the WRONG way to get what you want.
Oh, well thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that the material had an effect on the sound. I started out with a speaker that looked just like that JL and it was suuuuuuper crap. Then I moved up to a Hifonics which was definitely better but lastly I got the xplods which were even better. And they are made of like rubber and plastic whereas the hifonics is made of paper and rubber and the crap one was like paper and crappy foam. So from my experience, it seemed like the better the quality the better the sound. I don't care about looks I only care about sound quality, frequency range, SPL output, and accuracy. No lag. No sloppyniss. How do I get this?
Found this subwoofer. Would this be good for an IB setup? Qts .64 Frequency Range gets down to 20Hz (thumbs up for that) Vas is 3cuft\ Xmax 5.9mm http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-CAR-AUD...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item5adf982803 Here is a better one: http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-12-CHAM...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item3365b73483 This is a bit out of my price range but it's good: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065G31...search=free-air&tp=111&tab=features_and_specs Another Pioneer: http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-TS-W309...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item5adf98275b JL: http://cgi.ebay.com/JL-AUDIO-12W0V2...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item19c3f6e0bb
Yea, just tell me what type of bass you're looking for. I will check these subs out for you and get back
Are you being sarcastic? Lol cuz it sounds like it... I'm trying to get at least 20Hz minimum and up to like 500+Hz or so that I will EQ to how I want. Has to be a 12" and I want the sound quality to be good. It's going in an infinite baffle setup so the Qts has to be 0.6 or greater. Other than that I'm just looking for a good subwoofer between like $100-$200 but I'm lenient if it is worth it. Oh and I want a pretty good excurion to move the air since it's a free-air setup. Thanks... if you were serious... and haha if you weren't lol
