Hey everyone, I am new to this forum, so I built a system 6 yrs ago for an suv..... well I just bought an additional car and need some advice for it seeing as I have never built a system for a car with a trunk. So....... I am planning on an entry level RE sub probably a 10 inch. Is there anything I need to know with it going in the trunk? Sealed or ported enclosure? By the way it is a 2000 Nissan Sentra 4 door. The rears are in the trunk deck if that makes any difference. The deck is a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP (a few yrs old but new) I bought it for my sister and she never used it. Either some PG RSD, entry level RE, or maybe some CDT components (running CDT in my Rav) love them. and some coaxials in the back. This car is going to be my commuter for work. Not sure on the amps yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been out of the game for awhile!! Thanks :)

hairbandlover. Like that name! I am a product of such the era... anyway. A single 10 will do a fine job, i suggest a vented enclosure, assuming the driver you use will like such a box. Lots of power for not only the sub but also the highs.

I have and really like the rsd's.I have the 6"ers and they love the power I'm giving them.I'm using a 2000 circa eclipse 4chl and have each bridged to give 140 per. They are the best I've had yet and have not heard much better. The mid bass is pretty strong while the highs are detailed and clean. Not too harsh and not too muddy.A budget for a amp will help.I vote ported as well.

Thanks for the input guys, can I expect the bass to sound alot different coming from the trunk unlike my Rav where the sub is out in the open? I havent even began to look at amps I am running two Alpines in my Rav and have had great luck with them they have been pounding now for close to 6 yrs. I really dont want to spend that kind of money for this commuter car. Any suggestions on a mid level 4 channel and a mono block? Wow 140 per channel arent the RSD's rated alot lower than that? Nice to know they will handle that. Thanks again for the input.
