wire the hot/12v wire to your ignition switch or you can wire strait to the bat and turn the hu on and off manually (if wired to ignition switch, it wont hold memory i dont think, so all setings will reset every time you turn the key off) thats the best but worst way i can think of lol gl

With the red and yellow together you'll have 1 of 2 problems:

1 the radio will have power all of the time and wear down your battery

2 your radio will lose memory every time you shut your truck off

What's the power wire color and the memory(switched) wire color from the h/u?The power should have power all of the time, but the switched power should be wired to a wire that only has power when the ignition is on.

so ur saying dont use the yellow wire? Cause i only found one wire that was red and another wire that was blue with a white line on it. I should get a test light and see

Does the radio stations that you've preset stay the same after powering down and repowering?

The blue wire with the white line is a remote wire to turn on other things like amps or power antenna. So don't hook that up to your power wires.

well it will not hold any memory so im thinking i got to rip the dash apart to find that wire, and i found that the red wire is hooked up to a yellow wire like who ever owned the truck before i got it must of did his own wiring

so the yellow wire goes to the ignition switch?

the yellow wire is the memory wire, run it to the battery to get constant power. it won't draw much juice at all.
the red needs to be wired up to the ignition switch so that it only comes on whenever the key is on
