When my Sub is on My Brights turn into a kill Switch???

    I just wired a new sub in my 93 Ranger 4wd XLT 4.0 and at first when im in the truck i pull the brights and nothing happens then after i have been listening to the music for about 15 20 min i go to pull my brights and the truck almost dies kindof like its grounding out total kill switch lol Not Good. Any ways i bought the aftermarket wireing harness made all the conections corectly any ideas also i grounded the amp buy the driver side door i noticed that there is the ground for something else near the ground for my amp maybe this can interfier????? Thanks Guys

    Just as I suggested on another forum,you need to get your electrical system checked out.There are too many things it could be,so you have to eliminate things as you go.I firmly believe that's going to be your problem.

    sounds like a serious short. If this wsnt the case before the amp install, you have done something rather cataclysmic to some wires it sounds like. I Strongly encourage you to check this out ASAP or make sure you have full coverage on the vehicle....


    When going to hi beams the engine wants too stall? where is the power wire run through the firewall? and make sure you did not pinch, nick, or short out any factory wiring. Get a flashlight and spend some time looking through EVERYTHING you have done

    On a different forum he posted that the problem was intermittent.

    Well Honestly You Guys Seem Alittle extreme here its I just took the Factory Radio Out installed new head unit JVC kd-R210 got the 93-94 Ford Ranger Wireing Harness Sodlered all conections Took my time with all the work i used the head unit and drove all around town with it working fine with out the sub!! Then i hooked up the sub And When the power is low its works no problem once i turn the Amp and headunit up its like th draw of my brights with the amp on Kills the power almost like its to much for it My Ranger Is 1993 4x4 4.0 Made in (Sep 1993) Maybe they used a factory amp i dont know yet i am going to work on it this week so please ask all your friends Maybe a voltage reg will work maybe i need a cap. Get on My level use your barins this is not the first time i have hooked up subs Its just the first time experienceing this!!!!!!!!!!! And the Truck has a new alt, new Battery Conections, the battery could prob be replace its like 2 years old. Anyways I put it out there thanks for all the replys
