I recently got an 07 mustang and I need to get some ungraded sound in it.

    1) For the headunit i'm probably going to move over the pioneer p5200 from my 98 mustang unless anyone has any objections or reason why i shouldn't do this?

    2) I had pioneer 4 way 6x8s in my last car, I was thinking i'd like to do a step up from this and was thinking about doing some component speakers. What are some of the best for the buck brands for components? I was looking at some kicker 6x8s.

    3) From what I understand component speakers pretty much need to be amplified? What are the decent bang for the buck 4 channel amps? or what should I be looking for in a amp besides a four channel one?

I was looking at these for the speakers and an amp to power it.. what do you guys think?

    4) subs and amp for that... pretty much the same theme here, not looking for the best of the best, but whats going to give me pretty good performance for my money. I'm thinking 2 10"s would be best but not sure on brands and such. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help, guys.

a budget would help, but this is a setup i through togehter on a whim, it's a bit pricier than the one above but very good quality. probably gonna land you in the 1000$ area, over the 600$ area, but would be very worth it. better to be happy than keep spending money on small upgrades that never leave you completely happy trust me on that.

for you're subs, if you insist on 2, i'd go with 2 of these

now i did some searching around and i think this setup will give you some good sounding stuff, now your box, depending on what you want, and type of car, if it's a sedan might wanna go ported, if its a hatchback\suv or something with the trunk area open to the cabin go sealed, because you wont need the extra oomph, those subs will sound good in either, of course with ported you'll need more tuning to get it to sound right. for 2 of those you'll need a ported box about 2.5 cf, sealed you need 1.5 CF for both of them, so theirs quite a bit of space. you don't wanna kill your trunk space :)

The p5200 ain't a bad choice for a head unit but it's a little outdated.

I'd recommend you take a look at the z120BT if you got the money for it. It's a solid head unit, awesome sound quality, gps, huge 7" hi-resolution screen. Can't go wrong bro.

If you can't afford that by any chance, the next best setup would be the x920BT, cheaper and nearly as good and a slightly smaller screen.

    Cheers...

comps- infinity, image dynamics, focal, rainbow, soundstream, i dont have experience with them but they seem to be the hype.
