I have just purchased a Kicker 06S15L7-4 which is 2000w/1000rms (dual voice coil) I also have a d2400 amplifier which is: # RMS @ 4 Ohm: 1 x 425 # RMS @ 2 Ohm: 1 x 800 # RMS @ 1 Ohm: 1 x 1200 how the sub is currently wired On my amp, there is 4 speaker outputs, 2 positive, and 2 negative (above image) Is this sub wired correctly to run at 2ohms (800rms), if so how should I connect the positive and negative wire to amp (split and use all 4 outputs or just use any 2?) Starting getting a headache with researching so much, thanks so much!
no you have it wrong. what coil configuration is your sub? dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm. if its a dual 4 ohm wire both positives together and both negatives together. this will yeild a 2 ohm load. the way you have it shown will only power one coil, not a good idea. if its a dual 2 ohm. wire it the same. this will net you a 1 ohm load.
Looks like they tried series wiring but they missed it because they should have run Coil 1 Negative to Coil 2 Positive, then Coil 1 Positive and Coil 2 Negative to amp. The dual terminals on the amp are redundant, they are connected.
