Any luck finding the site? I searched google and only found bean bag plastic bean filler. Would that be it?

    A few things:

    1. I don't know why you would dismantled and destroy the XM radio adpater when you can just connect wires to it (or use a female power socket) and it could still be used later if the customer removes it.

    2. The next to last photo showing the Alpine in the Suburu looks like the bezel was cut with a can opener. The previous photo showing it stock didn't look modified, so I'm assuming you did that?

    3. Soldering directly to a speaker is bad because you can easily damage the voice coil. Amps burn them all the time. How much hotter do you think an iron is?

Lucy! You got some splainin' to do!

All his other work looked great to me. The car in the "before" state didn't look very clean to start, kinda like its a daily beater car. Even the stock radio didn't really look like it was designed to fit that bezel.

Maybe the owner didn't care as long as it fit and worked, considering the HU he wanted in there was broken to begin with??? If it were MY beater car, I'd just want it to sound good. Fabricating a faceplate would be a waste of time and money

Only Bigaudiofanatic would know, of course.
