Alright i have 2 Memphis 10's runing off a Memphis 500.1 amp in a Memphis ported box is there anything i can do to bump up the power and what do you thing about the set up
ok so i kinda left out a lot of information at the time i first asked this question cause my local Memphis dealer didnt give it me and also sold me products that are no longer made by Memphis which ****es me off but it still rocks my Nissan Altima so its not to bad anyways the specs as far as i can guess are my amp is a Memphis 16-PR1.500 running 2 15-PR10S4 10" inch 500 watt subs in a factory made Memphis box all the wiring was done by me and the dealer was surprised by the good job i did lol i have no special wires its all 8 gauge or 12 im not in the state at the moment cant look but anyone have any suggestions such as car batteries i should get or what?
If you are running the subs at 1 ohm than i would say no. If thats the case you should look into getting something new. If your looking into batterys, look into a better alternator instead. But you dont need any of these things, the system is not that powerfull enough where you need to start looking into power components.
all the info i can find on these subs say they are 4ohms but like i said it was hooked up by a Memphis dealer and sounds heavy and hits harder than a lot of 12's ive heard he just left me hanging on the information part and the Memphis site wont give the specs on discontinued products
Ya I understand, i dont need any spec info. But just because they are 4 ohm subs does not mean you have to run them at 4 ohms. Your amp is 300 watts at 2 ohms and 500 watts at 1 ohm,and 150 watts at 4 ohms. the less ohm load the more watts to the subs. They prolly are wires at 1 ohm though.
