New ideas for Lila

Like it says guys. I have been out of the caraudio game for a while kinda. Not long really but for a period of time. The eD subs just couldn't handle the nine.1 at one ohm any longer. I am turning her into a beast at the dragstrip now, but I need to have some thump. I need to keep the weight in the rear down so I am going IB in this setup. I have a small deck though, but I have decided to go with this type of IB. What do yall think? What subs should I use? I am open to all suggestions. I havent really measured yet but I am pretty sure I can fit a couple 15s in their. I got roughly about 1500 to 1600 RMS to work with at 1 ohm.

 

I have it down to the Fi IB3 15 and the AE IB15. not much price difference but I havent heard much about AE.

The ED's say they are compatable, but I dont believe them. I think the suspension is too soft to handle any real power. In the TS parameters the qts should be about .7 or higher. all of those are significantly lower. I think that is how it works if i remember correctly because it was a while ago that I was really thinking about gettin into IB.

 

Well I will take a look at it all on Wednesday if it aint raining. I am also thinking of doing just one 18". Will the 18 sound sloppy though on rock and stuff? I havent heard an IB setup before.

I got a new idea. I have been thinking, and cone are wins over all right? in most cases... so why not do 8 12s? I wanna try 8 cheap hifonics. Depending on shipping I can get the single 4 ohm version for $28.

Then, I will wire them at .5 ohms and get about 2000RMS. I can get about 12ish cubes out of my backseat without walling it off. Then, I may be able to go into the trunk a little, and get a few cubes. I wanna get about 16 cubes.

What do you guys think?

is it a big deal if the subs are on different sides of the box? like say 4 are firing forward and 4 up?

 

I just cant do it. haha I cant. A wall with 8 cheap subs aint as cool as a box with 8 cheap subs. When you see a wall, it usually means a huge, hair blowing, crazy a$$ loud system and I dont want people to think that. I'm gonna measure today after school to see if I can make it just tall enough to get all 8 on one side.
