alright, i have made my choice in subwoofer for my car. I am getting a Pioneer TS-W308

now what is the diffrence between the D2 and the D4?

also, I am getting 2 subs, each 400w rms, 1400 peak. does that mean i should get a 2 channel amp that puts out 400w+ rms x2 or a mono amp that puts out 800w+ x1, ooor do i try too get an amp that will put out more wattage since the peak wattage is 1400w each?

are there any suggestions on what amp i should get? I will end up paying around $140-200 for the subs which leaves me with about $200 for an amp.

The Kicker setup would be better than Pioneers. And Dealer Cost Audio is a scam, don't buy from them, just search for reviews and you'll find it is overwhelmingly negative.

As for direction answer a few questions for us and maybe we could come up with something better. What's your budget? What kind of car is it going in? What are your goals (really loud or sound quality)? And do you have any aftermarket upgrades in your car (radio, wiring, speakers, etc.)?

D2 is 2 ohm, D4 is 4 ohm. The RMS rating is how all components are rated. So if you get an amp that can do 800W RMS 2 Channel, or 800W RMS mono, it will also have a higher peak rating then 800W. Pair the amps and subs for the RMS rating.

khayman is wrong, they are dual coil 2, and dual coil 4, the D4 is dual 4, and the D3 is dual 2,the dual 2 can be 1 ohm or 4 ohms, the D4 can be 2 ohms, or 8 ohms.
