Hello, Im new to this forum and new to car stereos. I currently have the new Pioneer DEH-P7200HD which I love and two JL audio 12" W0s pushed by a powerbass 400w amp. Im looking into getting a JL audio amp, and was wondering which would be the best for my setup in a 1996 2 door Tahoe. I probably sound like an idiot, but being 16 im very new to the car audio deal. Any and all help is appreciated. Also, it doesnt have to be a JL audio amp, I just know that they make quality products. Thank you
Yes JL does make good products but they are very expensive. Look at the Hifonics 1210D, also the Alpine PDX series and some people have been talking about Audiopipe. How much do you want to spend?
It doesnt necessarilly have to be a brand new one. But I have a few hundred to spend. I would rather spend more one a good one now, then upgrade again later on. What size amp should I be looking for?
what is the RMS of the subs? go from there. 300 each... 600 wat amp or a lil more. and for the money audiopipe amps are good. a buddy of mine is doing 143.4 dbs with 2 IA 12's on their 1500d amp. 159 shipped. thats at 1 ohm. you of course can wire yours to a lower load if need be.
ok when I say im an audio newbie, I mean it. Haha. What is RMS? Im not going for shear power and bass as much as I am for clarity and clean hits... and what exactly is an ohm? a measurement of something? Id love to learn about this so please clarify if you want to...
