I searched and tried the tutorials with no luck, maybe someone could clue me in. I have an 86 Chev truck and I would like to replace the stereo as it eats tapes. It is the factory cassette so the hole has not been cut. I hunt and fish so the truck goes offroad some. I would like to listen to radio, cd, charge my cell and plug in an ipod. Am I going to have to cut the dash and do I need an amp? I just don't have any direction so any help would be great. mick

i dont know of any heads that charge phones.

you may be able to find an under dash mounting kit so you wont have to cut your dash. also you may not need an amp as todays radios offer upwards of 22 watts per channel.

unless you want a sub, then an amp will need to be bought.

My truck is a 86 Chev Silverado K30 full size standard cab. There isn't much room so I don't want to add a sub or an amp. Upwards of 22 amps would fit the bill. I really don't want to cut the dash, so under dash is a good idea, would I have to build an enclosure? Thanks, mick
