Seems like they are specing out higher than the Hertz I am looking at and curious what everyones thoughts were on this. Hertz ES300D sub: 300rms (power handling), medium magnet structure, 9 mm xmax (excursion/low frequency response), 2.5" diameter coil (width of the voice coil) BL 9.5Tm (motor strength), Qts .56 (total driver Q) SSA Icon 12D1: 1000rms (more then 3x the power handling of the Hertz driver), triple magnet structure, 21mm Xmax (much greater low frequency response and excursion), 3" voice coil (much more thermal capacity), BL 16.4 (stronger motor = greater cone control for sharper response), Qts .42 (can live in a smaller sealed enclosure)
I have a 15" xcon which is the louder version of the icon, and it sounds excellent, it is very precise and very loud. I only have one and its not broken in yet and it can make my hair move a little just sitting in the passenger seat. I'm still adjusting things.
