Ok guys, this is my first post and it might be too long and for that I apologize... I am putting a new system in my 05 SuperDuty crew cab. I have a Rockford Power 400.4 to power Rockford Power 6.5 components in all 4 doors. I have a Rockford Power 600.2 to power the subs that I cannot decide on. Originally I was going to run 3 10" JL 10w1v2 in a sealed box behind the rear seat. After browsing around other forums I have had everybody tell me to NOT buy the JLs... I have heard opinions from a few people telling me to buy subs from companies that I have never heard of before so I don't know what to do. I still want to run 3 10s in a sealed box. The depth of the box will be 7" at the bottom and 4" at the top so I need subs that are no deeper than about 5" to 5 1/2"... PLEASE help me choose guys... Thanks alot
I don't really have much of a budget...and honestly, I wasn't sure how I was going to wire them... I have heard alot of people tell me to not run 3... thoughts??
Yea I'm not a fan of running 3 subs. I'm a fan of even numbers of subs. If you have an odd number it makes them more complex in wiring them to a amp. If you have 4 subs for instance you can use 2 amps and wire (4) 4 ohm subs to a 1 ohm load and use one amp.
What are the reasons they are giving to not run 3 subs, because its an odd number? Its only 1 or 2 more wires inside your box, not a big deal. Besides you will get more cone space which means more bass. As for not buying Jl Audio, if you listened to them and YOU like them then buy them. They are nice but I think they are somewhat overpriced, but that is just my opinion.
i used to run 3 8's @ a 1.3 ohm load. no biggie there. its just more than 2 and less than 4. of course i did go up to a fourth sub for a wee bit more cone area and a few more db's. and now im going to just one for simplicity.
