ordered 2 of the type -rs today, prolly will be here Wednesday. In the meantime I hooked up my 2 ch amp for my door speakers, no more using the head units amp. im using the MB quart component speakers i got for the fiberglass box for now, and i stripped my interior out and will take the carpet out on the next day off to put some sound dampener stuff

while im waiting to get the other 2 subs to make 4, I can hook up the 2 ill get so they are 1ohm and use the mb quart amp i got for now, should give them 500w each at 1ohm, which is what the alpine amp will give (at 2ohm) with all 4 hooked up, so at least I can hear what they sound like getting 500w.

i got bored waiting for my subs to get mailed so i made a amp rack from the front since the part in the middle is too small to put one there

ill take some more pics when i get the speakers

ok , well i decided to make the box ported, ill run the ports thru the middle part, and ill have to make the box 13 in deeper to make the recommended volume for the subs (2.9 cubic feet) and have the port running the depth of the box and the width of the box minus the opening inside would be 35" port lenth, half the middle would be 3.75 inches and the inner height of the box is 14.5 in, would tune them to around 34 hertz

so to do this ill pop off the back of the box and remove the middle, add wood to extend it 13 in and attach it back to the current box, easy right? haha

so heres the current box, and then the addition ill make and then them together

heres some progress on it, i started after work and worked untill i got at least one of the 4 sealed so i can test it

just the one at 500 rms sounded i wee bit louder then my 2 12s at 500 each,
the 2 15s in the sealed box before i made it ported sounded alot quieter then
my 2 12s, then again i designed the box originally for the kickers, and the alpine
    needs alot more room

but add 2 and a half times more wood than the origianl (and weight to my rear end ) was well worth it

will finish it up tomorrow, then ill have to re-do the carpeted front part, oh well

k got it done, will start on the front cover tomorrow after work

its sooo loud, im kinda scared to have 4 in there haha, and im definantly only gonna get the one amp, they dont need any more power ha

i braced the 2 parts of the box together with some wood untill i get the hardware store again and get some metal ones, and some l brackets for the ports, i dont trust only glue and one side being screwed in, i couldnt get to the inside part to screw it in on the top parts of the box

here is the front done, for some reason it doesnt sound as loud as it was when it was open to the sides and top to the back? im gonna listen again tomorrow and take it off and compare,

but anyways, i mounted the amp on top/roof so that i can put my rear seats back in, theres no room in the back to mount it so...

definantly alot alot louder with out the cover for the sides and top, so i just decided to carpet the box, wont look as good, but i couldnt live knowing how much more it could do if i kept the cover.
