Ok I'm looking at buying a new mono class D amp and I think I've decided on what I want. I'm new to the thought of a monoblock amp. I'm going to buy it from sonicelectronix.com the amp I'm getting is the power acoustic LFA1-4000d. All the specs say its a class D monoblock amp. But isn't a monoblock a 1 channel amp? This amp clearly has two negs and two pos outputs. I know how to wire a sub and understand ohms. So is the 2 channels on this monoblock amp just for different wiring configurations? Or is it not a real class D monoblock? Any more info would b helpful. I plan on buying the amp next week. I don't want or need your opinions on the amp just if its possible to have a class D mono amp with 2 channels like this amp does
It has only one channel. Many manufactures do this to make it easier to hook up two speakers. Internally both positives are hooked together and both negatives are hooked together.
Ok that's all I needed to know. Thanks for the info. I will stick with plan on buying my amp next week. I just hope it gets here before I pick up my custom built box.
